What to Expect
A
trip to
Europe is an extraordinary event in your life. If you've been to Europe
before, we need to make sure this trip lives up to your
expectations. If
you haven't been to Europe before, we hope your first experience will
lead you to develop a
passion to learn about and explore the world. You might even be "bitten by the travel bug" ...
Traveling in a
small group is a great way to travel. First, it's a lot of fun. Second,
you'll find fellow travelers to share each special
experience. Our
groups usually have dinners together in charming local restaurants that
are much too small for large tour groups. This creates a sense of
togetherness as we all discuss what we saw today and develop plans for
tomorrow. Not surprisingly friendships blossom and grow.
In our small tour groups you won't be
"lost in the crowd."
Our tours balance planned activities with free time for you to do your own thing. We consider the tour properly balanced when the scale is heavier on the "free time" side. For example, just because some travelers want
to
visit art museums does not mean that everyone must. You
may be much more interested in finding out about the aqueduct system
than in looking at paintings. If we have worked in enough "free time"
everyone gets to do what is near and dear to his or her heart. A "laid
back" tour is not a lazy tour. Its a flexible and fun tour that
each of you will enjoy. You're not rushed nor
regimented.
We cater to those who want a
somewhat slower pace while at the same time we assist others who prefer to keep a busy schedule. The choice is yours.
We personally lead every
trip.
This means that we are right there with you. We are there to
take care of unexpected things that come up. No one has to wait
to "talk to" someone before decisions can be made.
You decide how you spend your time and you won't be herded from place to
place.
You won't chase the lady with the umbrella and
microphone unless you choose to.
If you have special
interests such as wine, cooking, art, music etc. just let us know. We can make or facilitate your making any special reservations or arrangements you require. Whether you want to take guided tours, "shop til you drop" or
leisurely sample the outstanding food and wine of Italy --our tours are
personalized for you!
We will get to know each other long before the tour starts. We'll undoubtedly be talking on
the phone and emailing each other several times before you tour begins. That is definitely not the
case with large tour groups where you have no way of knowing
who will be leading your tour. Traveling with us you know what you've got -- us! - at your service!
You
are invited to join the group for dinner every night but you
can always go out
on your own. We have many special restaurants we love to share with our groups.
One final note, in case you can't tell, we love doing this. We
treasure our time abroad and the time spent with our tour groups. It is
very important to us that you have a wonderful time and that your "trip
of a lifetime" bring you a lifetime of good memories.
When
you get back home, we hope
you'll have a smile on your face and a warm spot in your heart
when you share your experiences with your friends. If the "travel bug
